Everyone tackles legal research in the way that works best for them. The starting point of all legal research is a question. What are you asking? That question will lead you to what is called the “law on point” or the law relevant to the question. I use publicly available sources including the Indiana General Assembly website and published Indiana cases. Where a subscription database is helpful for context, I will always cite a free public source so you can verify it yourself.
